We asked Innkeeper, Naturist Action Committee Chair and Former AANR Executive Director Bill Schroer to tell us more.
How would you describe Nuance B&B in one sentence?
Nuance Naturist B&B is a small and intimate naturist retreat, perfect for the experienced naturist couple seeking refuge and relaxation and ideal for a first time nudist couple who desire a welcoming, friendly environment in which to experience naturism.
What is special about Nuance B&B and your guests?
Nuance Naturist B&B is the ultimate naturist connection with nature. Nestled in the middle of 40 acres of woods, pond and pasture, Nuance is surrounded by 300 acres of wetland and marsh.
One can be nude anywhere on the property...for hiking, swimming, fishing, nature and bird photography - lots of waterbirds and songbirds here.
The guest accommodations are limited to three rooms...so there is never a crowd and the amenities here allow for a diversity of activities...even in the winter. For example, the solarium allows nude sunbathing year around, the hot tub is also welcoming all year.
There is an in-home movie theater, regulation pool table and plenty of board games, an extensive library and lots of great music to play.
The B&B is almost more of a resort than a B&B. I know that once people arrive, unlike a textile B&B where guests use the B&B as a "base" to explore from, my guests have no intention of leaving. This is the destination...and I want them to have a full menu of activities and pursuits to enjoy....or to relax and enjoy nothing......and everything.
What accommodations are available at Nuance B&B?
There are currently three guest rooms at Nuance. Each room is spacious but not a suite...the idea is to enjoy the entire facility...not be cooped up in a room.
There is one bathroom for two of the rooms and the third room has its own detached bath. I have found the shared bath is not much of an issue with nudists and there is plenty of accommodation and sharing with no concern.
The rooms all have a view of the pond and the horizon to the west.
Each room has a TV and DVD player...although again, the idea is to enjoy the entire facility.
What activities and special events are available at Nuance B&B?
As noted...there is hiking, swimming in season, bocce, pickleball, badminton, kayaking (on the pond and on a nearby stream where one can kayak for hours...and often nude!), sunning, fishing.
Special events include holiday parties, competitions (kayak races), game tournaments, etc.
Other activities include using the hot tub, reading, yoga and massage. Massage table is available for use by couples.
Why is nudism / naturism an important and healthy choice?
Very simply, nudism / naturism is a healthy and positive philosophy of living. It offers an unmatched connection with nature and allows for a truer appreciation of the environment and world around us.
It also demonstrates how vulnerable we as humans are without all the bulletproof clothing....both vulnerable to the elements and to other people...and teaches us to be thoughtful, kind and respectful of others.
It also helps us be comfortable with our bodies....as no one has a perfect body and we all deal with body image issues...naturism teaches us to accept ourselves and others...to be kind and to treat others the way we want to be treated and accepted.
