Federation of Canadian Naturists - Canada’s national nudist organization

Naturism has been defined as “a way of life in harmony with nature characterized by the practice of social nudity with the intention of encouraging self-respect, respect for others and for the environment.” The Federation of Canadian Naturists is Canada’s national nudist organization. We asked Greg Snow, the President of the Federation of Canadian Naturists, to tell us about it.
How would you describe FCN in one sentence?
The Federation of Canadian Naturists (FCN) is Canada’s national nudist organization.
What is special about your FCN and your members?
The FCN is entirely volunteer-run and depends on the support of its members to pursue its activities. A member of the Federation helps to make the circle of those who adopt the naturist lifestyle ever wider. The members help to make naturism become an accepted form of recreation for all Canadians.
The FCN publishes a quarterly magazine, called Going Natural/au Naturel, (two paper copies and four digital versions) and information brochures.
We give seminars and media interviews and run naturism booths at various major exhibitions.
We have affiliations with Canadian nudist/naturist clubs and close links with other naturist organizations.
We represent Canadian naturism at the congresses of the International Naturist Federation (INF).
What accommodations, resorts and beaches are available through FCN?
We have lists of all naturist accommodations, clubs, and beaches across Canada and some from around the world. Over 100 clubs, resorts and business are listed. Everything from resorts to clubs to beaches are listed.
What activities and special events are available with FCN?
We hold an annual Festival. At the Festival there are seminars, workshops, dinners, dances, activities for children and lots of fun.
Every three years it is hosted by our partner the FQN (The Quebec Federation of Naturism is the official body promoting naturism in Quebec.)
It is held at various naturist resorts in Canada on the third weekend of August.
Why is nudism / naturism an important and healthy choice?
The precepts of naturism include free your body, free your mind.
To accept yourself, respect others, and live a more natural life.
We foster belief in the essential wholesomeness of the human body and the health of mind and spirit, which grows in those, accustomed to see and respect the human body as created.
We share the enjoyment of naturist living with individuals and groups of like interest.
