We asked Dale Harding to tell us more.
How would you describe I Do Secular Ceremonies in one sentence?
At I Do Secular Ceremonies, I think any consenting adult should be able to marry any other consenting adult and have the ceremony they want.
What can you tell us about the history of I Do Secular Ceremonies?
I became an Ohio-licensed wedding officiant in May 2014 and launched I Do Secular Ceremonies in August 2014 in anticipation of same-sex marriage becoming legal nationwide. I'm proud to have officiated weddings for straight, gay, and transgender couples and I'm excited to expand my services to my nudist and naturist community.
What can you tell us about the services offered by I Do Secular Ceremonies?
I am solely an officiant. I do not provide wedding planning services, although I will offer my advice if asked. I have several secular vow ceremonies that I use, or I am happy to have the couple provide their own vows. I offer an alternative to those who wish a nontraditional wedding. I have performed ceremonies in traditional halls, at a couple's home, at a comic-con type venue with the couple in costume, in a barn, in the lobby of a Sheraton Suites, and even with a couple who simply came to my table at a convention and stood in front of me.
What can you tell us about yourself?
I'm a very open-minded person who firmly believes that any consenting adult should be able to marry any other consenting adult and have the ceremony they want. I'm up for anything within the law. As a devout atheist, I am not bound by any particular traditions.
Why is it important to find an officiant like you?
I firmly believe that a loving couple should be free to have any ceremony, theme, or dress code, including clothing-optional or fully nude. Anything goes within the law. After all, it's your wedding and your life - do what you want.
