If you haven’t already heard, our very own Executive Chef Kurtis Jantz has created quite a local buzz with his use of Florida-grown flavors in dishes available throughout the resort. With brand-new menu items in Neomi’s Grill that highlight locally-sourced, fresh ingredients, we just can’t seem to get enough of citrus!

So…as we prepare for our Annual Mother’s Day brunch, it’s the perfect time to celebrate and honor Mom’s everywhere by throwing a contest with “zest”!

Break out your apron and get down to business with one of your favorite recipes from Mom... then get creative by ADDING any citrus fruit ingredient to the recipe to give it your own unique “TWIST”!

Contest Recipe Entries can fall into three (3) categories:
* Appetizers
* Main Course Dishes
* Desserts

From all of the recipe entries, a total of three (3) recipes will be selected as finalists.

These three (3) recipes will be featured at our Annual Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday May 8th, 2016. Attendees at the brunch will get the chance to sample, enjoy and cast their vote on each of finalist’s recipe creations. The recipe with the most votes wins!

Here's how it works in 3 easy steps:

* Pick one special family recipe and add a citrus ingredient to it. Create your own original recipe using a family recipe and then add any kind of citrus ingredient to give it your own “twist”. The recipe can be as healthy (or decadent!) as you’d like. The only two rules are that your recipe must include a citrus fruit of some kind, and must be original content. What does that mean? You are allowed to use a recipe that has already been published on your own blog page or your own social media page but it may not have been not been published elsewhere. Any recipes that have been previously published anywhere other than your own blog page or your own social media page will be disqualified.

* Submit your recipe. To enter, you must submit the following no later than April 15, 2016 at 5:00pm E.S.T. Your name, address, phone number and email address. The category for your recipe (Appetizer, Main Dish, Dessert). Your original family recipe. Your additional Citrus “Twist” ingredient. One photo of your dish. Photos must be at least 718 x 581. A short note to tell us about the special tradition or your fondest memory about the family recipe that you selected to use. Entries with missing elements and/or photos smaller than 718 x 581 will be disqualified.

* Vote at our Mother's Day Brunch. Make plans now to join us for our Annual Mother’s Day Brunch. The three (3) finalists will be announced on May 2, 2016 on Trumpmiami.com and on our Facebook page. These recipes will be featured at our Annual Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday May 8, 2016. All attendees at the brunch will sample, enjoy and vote on their favorite finalist recipe. Our grand prize winner will be announced on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 on Trumpmiami.com and also on our Facebook page.

The Grand Prize Winner will receive:

Actor Kevin Bacon said, "There's something therapeutic about nudity. Take away the Gucci or Levis and we are all the same." Since 2004, tens of thousands of men and women around the world have been enjoying the therapeutic qualities of nude bicycling in an event called the World Naked Bike Ride.

From Canada to Australia and everywhere in between, people gather together, shed their clothes and bicycle unashamed through the streets of cities filled with curious onlookers. The World Naked Bike Ride has been called "the world's largest naked event promoting cycling in the history of humanity."

According to the World Naked Bike Ride website, "We have many great reasons to be celebrating, with all the glory of naked two-wheel sanity. It's time to join hundreds of naked compatriots in a free, non-sexual, fun bike ride! All are welcome! From the shy to the bold. Cyclists, rollerbladers, rollerskaters, skate boarders. All ages, sizes, and colors welcome. Bring your family and your co-workers!"

Worried about what to wear or not to wear? No problem! What to wear? The World Naked Bike Ride dress code is "As Bare As You Dare." You alone decide what you are comfortable with. and no one is excluded or discriminated against. The goal is "to get people to laugh and smile is a great way to connect and share ideas in a non-threatening way."

When The Travel Channel UK calls you “The best gay resort we’ve ever visited” and OUT Traveler Magazine names you "Best gay resort in the world," you know you are doing something amazing. Island House Key West is something amazing in its unique way.

If you are planning a trip to Key West, this is definitely the place you want to visit.

Island House is located in Old Town Key West - just where you want to be to enjoy the eclectic nightlife of this world-famous destination. Island House is a "completely secure private compound where the choice to wear something or nothing at all is yours."

History

The Island House tropical compound includes four separate buildings. The oldest building was built in the 1890's. The buildings have served as a private residence, a boarding house, a laundromat and even a cigar factory.

Clothing-Optional

Once you enter the secure entrance, you are free to be as naked as you desire to be. As members of Gay Naturists International and the American Association for Nude Recreation, we spent almost all of our time at Island House nude.

Most of the guests swam and sunbathed nude but those who were more comfortable in swimsuits enjoyed themselves as well.

The tropical pool is perfect for a refreshing dip. The pool is surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs and many guests sunbathe nude in the beautiful Florida sunshine and tropical landscaping.

A second floor sunbathing deck is another popular option for guests. Even on weekdays, it is filled with men of all ages, shapes and sizes.

Amenities

Island House offers a large, heated outdoor pool and two Jacuzzis which are open 24 hours a day. One Jacuzzi is indoors. One is outdoors.
The Island House Health Club includes a gym and Spa area with sauna, steam room, a five man shower and indoor Jacuzzi.

The gym includes two Life Fitness Dual Adjustable Pulley stations, a Life Fitness Abdominal Crunch machine, a curling station, two Life Fitness Exercise Bikes, a Life Fitness Elliptical Summit Trainer, a treadmill, Cybex Smiths Press station, two multi-purpose benches and dumbbells.

An erotic Video Lounge is open 24 hours a day and shows only adult male videos.

A licensed massage therapist is available poolside.

Complimentary wi-fi is included. We found the signal to be strong and fast.

Cafe and Bar

The Island House cafe serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and a poolside overnight menu. The menu features "American favorites with Caribbean touches."

The Island House bar offers beer, wine, champagne, mixed drinks and tropical specialties 24 hours a day. The free happy-hour offered every evening is very popular with guests. It is a great opportunity to chat with old friends and make new ones.

Rooms

Because the property has had such a wide variety of uses in 120 years, it offers a wide variety of room sizes, shapes and prices.

Every room features an "ultra-comfortable bed" with a premium mattress and box spring, super smooth 300 thread count bed linens, a white goose down comforter, and four down-filled pillows.

The rooms offer double draperies. A room-darkening outer drape and a sheer inner drape.

Every room has a flat panel HDTV with expanded cable service, three 24 hour complimentary porn channels, air conditioning/heater with ceiling fan, direct dial phone with voice mail, IPhone/IPod charging stations with alarm clock, and a digital secured safe. Our bath towels are extra large and we provide Aveda amenities in every bathroom.

Rooms with private baths also have an in-room refrigerator. Superior and Deluxe rooms have irons, ironing boards, and refrigerators. Deluxe rooms also have microwave ovens and coffee makers.

Island House provides daily housekeeping service.

Conclusion

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Island house Key West. Our room was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated and furnished. The pool was perfect for a nude swim any time of the day or night. The cafe and 24 hour bar are impressive amenities and popular gathering spots. The Jacuzzis and steam room were perfect for aching muscles after a day of sightseeing. We highly recommend Island House for any gay man visiting Key West, Florida.
