Owner Renee Shafer-Alison is a singer / songwriter with an artistic flair and a quick laugh who is known to make a campfire just so she can hang out and swap stories with her guests in the evening. She may even bring out her guitar and share a song or have a musician friend stop by to participate in an impromptu acoustic jam. She also might host a co-ed, nude yoga gathering.
Her husband Alan is a medical professional who loves playing farmer with his garden, rabbits and pigs. He has mobile medical facilities on wheels parked at the rear of the property that he once used to offer every service from x-rays and health screenings to emergency medical relief during major catastrophes.
While Renee may be hosting a nude yoga class, Alan may likewise be found enjoying the sunshine and gardening nude.
Renee and Alan's Horseshoe Road Inn B&B is just as wonderfully unique as they are. Situated on five easily accessible, wooded acres of land on U.S.1, the fenced property offers a pond with a rustic dock, a large screened kitchen and dining building, a cute two-story rental bungalow with a spiral staircase, rabbits, pigs, geese, chickens, the occasional nudist and a very lovable dog named Bella.
Renee and Alan have received almost unanimously positive feedback from their guests. But, if you don't care for the property's unique vibe, the say-it-like-it is -Renee doesn't let it get to her. She's been known to say, "Horseshoe Road Inn B&B, if you don't like it, F#@K you and the horse you rode in on!"
This is definitely not your cookie-cutter, big chain, run-of-the-mill hotel. If you're looking for a beachside property where you can lounge around the pool ordering cocktails, this is not the place for you.
If you're more of a laid-back personality looking for a relaxed atmosphere in a free-spirited setting where you just might encounter the occasional nude gardener or nude yoga class, this may be it.
